For over 30 years, Tom Ueberschaer has represented injured people throughout Pensacola and Northwest Florida. How Tom Helps Injured People and Families

Unlike many firms where clients primarily communicate with staff, you’ll work directly with Tom. He takes the time to understand how your injury has affected your life, answer your questions and develop a legal strategy based on your unique circumstances.

Our Story
Thomas J. Ueberschaer, P.A. was built on a simple belief: people who have been injured through no fault of their own deserve an attorney who will stand up for them and treat them with honesty and respect.
Tom’s career didn’t begin representing injured individuals. Early on, he represented insurance companies and their adjusters. While that experience gave him valuable insight into how insurance companies evaluate and defend claims, it also helped him realize where he wanted to make the biggest difference. He chose to dedicate his practice to representing Florida residents who had been seriously injured, finding it far more rewarding to fight for families in need than against them.
Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Binghamton University before receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Today, many of the firm’s new clients come from referrals by former clients. For Tom, that’s one of the greatest compliments he can receive. It reflects the trust he’s built over decades of providing personal attention, honest advice, and dedicated advocacy for the people and families he serves.
What Our Firm Believes
At Thomas J. Ueberschaer, P.A., we believe every client deserves personalized legal representation. That starts with listening to your story, understanding how your injuries have affected your life and developing a strategy based on your specific goals and circumstances.
We also believe legal representation should be accessible. That’s why we work on a contingency fee basis. You pay nothing upfront, and there are no attorney’s fees unless we recover compensation for you. Throughout your case, you’ll work directly with Tom rather than being passed from one staffer to another. Our team also collaborates with trusted experts and support professionals when needed to build the strongest case possible.
Most importantly, we believe our responsibility extends beyond resolving individual cases. Tom has long advocated for injured workers in Tallahassee and remains committed to protecting the rights of people throughout Florida. Whether negotiating a fair settlement or presenting a case in court, our goal is always the same: to pursue the outcome that best serves our client’s future.
Every case is prepared with care, supported by thorough investigation and evaluated on its own merits. While many claims can be resolved through negotiation, we’re always prepared to take a case to trial when that’s what’s required to protect our clients’ interests.
What "Ask Tom" Actually Means
“Ask Tom” is more than a slogan. It’s a commitment to being available when you need answers. We know that after an accident or injury, uncertainty can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to give you clear information and honest guidance so you can make informed decisions about your case.
As your case moves forward, you’ll continue to work directly with Tom. Whether you have questions about the legal process, settlement negotiations or what to expect next, you’ll have an attorney who is accessible and committed to keeping you informed. We believe communication shouldn’t stop after the first consultation.
Standing Up for Injured Workers: Beyond the Courtroom
Tom believes advocating for injured people doesn’t end when a case is resolved. Throughout his career, he’s worked to strengthen the rights of injured workers and accident victims in the courtroom and beyond. As a long-standing member of Florida Workers' Advocates, a long-standing Eagle member of the Florida Justice Association and a member of the American Association for Justice, Tom stays actively involved in organizations dedicated to protecting the rights of injured individuals. He also advocates for injured workers in Tallahassee, helping support efforts that strengthen legal protections for people across Florida.
Tom’s commitment to serving others extends into the Pensacola community as well. He has supported organizations including Miracle League, Ronald McDonald House, Loaves and Fishes, Optimist Club, Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival, Health & Hope Medical Clinic and Nonie’s Place. Whether he’s representing a client or giving back to the community, Tom believes in making a meaningful difference one person and one family at a time.
